Andrew McEntee Obituary, Former Professor Of Criminal Justice At Lansing Community College Has Died

Andrew McEntee Obituary, Death –  In the city of Okemos, Andrew Patrick McEntee,at the age of 84, he passed away in a calm and peaceful manner on March 29, 2024, with his loved ones attending to him. In Ann Arbor, Michigan, on July 2, 1939, Andy McEntee was born. His parents, Harry and Lillian (Roland) McEntee, were his parents. Because he had been in the United States Marine Corps, he felt a great deal of pride in his time spent in the service.

After nearly 34 years of service, Andy retired from the MSU Public Safety department in 1999. Prior to that, he had been a police officer. Andy took a civilian position with the Meridian Township Police Department when he retired from the police force. He had been there for close to fifteen years. For more than three decades, he was a professor of Criminal Justice at Lansing Community College.

In addition, he was a professor at police academies located all across the Lansing area. Andy was an unassuming and modest individual. He had a passion for motorcycles and valued the time he spent with his family on a bike ride. Andy was a dog lover, and he never encountered a dog that did not adore him. It was his Great Dane, Lua, to whom he felt the deepest attachment.

Andy was a devoted Spartan who enjoyed playing basketball and football for Michigan State University. At the beginning of St. Martha Parish, Andy was a founding member. In particular, we would want to express our gratitude to Pam and Robin, as well as the wonderful staff of caregivers that they employ at Gunnisonville Meadows. We would also like to take this opportunity to convey our appreciation to Careline Hospice for the exceptional care that they provided, particularly to the nurses Katie Haviland and Eric Willard.”

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay McEntee, who resides in Okemos; his children, Meghann Jo Smith of Howell and Mike (Kelsey) McEntee of New Hudson; and his grandsons, Andrew and Connor McEntee, Aubrey and Adalynn Smith. Andy’s parents, his sister, Sr. Marjorie McEntee, his brother, Hank (Frances) McEntee, his sister-in-law, Sue Waltman, and his brother-in-law, William Scharffe, all passed away before him.

Visitation will begin at the church one hour prior to the Funeral Mass that will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 am. The funeral mass will be place at St. Martha Parish, which is located at 1100 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, 48864. On Thursday, visitation will also take place at the Shelly-Odell Chapel of the Mills Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids from five to eight o’clock in the evening.

At seven thirty, a recitation of the Rosary will take place. Interment will take place immediately after the funeral mass at Leek Cemetery, which is located at 3008 Dobie Road in Mason, 48854.
