Larry Starnes Obituary, Pastor Of Oasis Christian Center And Owner Of Starnes’s Bar-b-Que Has Died

Larry Starnes Obituary, Death –  On Thursday, March 28, 2024, Pastor Larry Starnes, who resided in Boaz, Kentucky, passed away at his home. He was 82 years old at the time of his passing. Larry Starnes was born to Floyd and Earline Budd Starnes on January 1st, 1942. His parents were named Floyd and Earline Budd Starnes.

Additionally, Pastor Larry served as the pastor of Oasis Christian Center in addition to being the proprietor of Starnes’ Bar-b-Que, which he owned and operated until his retirement. The year 1959 was the year when he graduated from Lone Oak High School with his diploma. It was at the University of Florida that he received his Doctor of Divinity degree after completing his studies.

Back when Larry was younger, one of his favorite things to do was to go coon hunting. The activities that Pastor Larry was most enthusiastic about were reading the Bible, preaching, and serving as a witness to individuals.

There are a few people who have survived him, including the following: his wife, Brenda Yopp Starnes; one daughter, Paula Riley, who is married to Mike and lives in Mayfield, Kentucky; one son, Tim Starnes, who is married to Detra and lives in Boaz, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Steven Riley, Daniel Riley, Adam Riley, Amy Biggers, and Sara Aldrich, all of whom are married to their respective spouses; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

His mother and father, as well as his first wife, Judith Ann Harper Starnes, as well as his two sisters, Marilyn Fox and Rebecca Smith, and his brother, Donald Starnes, all went away before he did. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be performed at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Paducah on the afternoon of Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. after the visitation. Additionally, Pastor David Parrish will serve as the ceremony’s presider. Next, we will make our way to Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in order to carry out the burial.
