David Hoiland Obituary, A Cherished Soul Has Peacefully Passed Away

David Hoiland Obituary, Death –  In the comfort of his own home on Thursday, March 28, 2024, David Allen Hoiland, who was 69 years old and a resident of Viroqua, Wisconsin, passed away. The 22nd of December, 1954 found him being born in Viroqua. His parents, Peter and Clara (Halverson) Hoiland, were his parents. David attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua for both his baptism and confirmation.

He also received his high school diploma from Viroqua High School in 1973. Following his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps on October 21, 1974, David went on to complete his basic training at Camp Pendleton, which is located in the state of California. His marriage to Bonnie Schwab resulted in the birth of two children: Michele and David Jr. throughout their time together.

In the years that followed, David tied the knot with Veronica “Peach” DeWitt on May 26, 1990. Together, they went on to create two kids, namely Justin and Dylan. He had worked for the City of Viroqua for a total of 33 years before retiring. During that time, he also owned and operated his own portable toilet rental company, which was known as J&D Portable Rental.

David is survived by his wife, Peach; children: Michele (Mike) Krafjack, David Jr., Justin (Jennifer) DeWitt, and Dylan (Erin) Hoiland; seven grandchildren: Kali, Miley, Sophie, Charlie, Addison, Henley and Monroe; two great-grandchildren: McKenna and Archer; a sister, Betty (Jim) Feurerhelm; brother, Wyman (Hillary) Hoiland; many nieces and nephews; and his best fur-friend, Abby.

Richard, Gordon, Shirley, and Cleo Ann were David’s siblings who passed away before him. His parents were also among those who came before him in death. At the Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua, funeral services are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at eleven o’clock in the morning. Afterwards, the burial will take place at the Viroqua Cemetery with full military honors.

On Monday, April 1, 2024, visitation will take place at Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The responsibility of providing his services has been given to Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua.
