Annis “Meme Ree” Comer Obituary, In Loving Memory Of A Beloved Mother

Annis “Meme Ree” Comer Obituary, Death Cause –  It was on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center that Mrs. Annis Marie “Meme Ree” Fowler Comer, who had been battling cancer for a courageous amount of time, passed away peacefully. She was 56 years old. Her parents, Odell and Carolyn Draughn Fowler, welcomed her into the world on October 9, 1967, in Surry County.

Marie possessed a captivating spirit and was brimming with vitality. A loving nurse at Baptist Hospital for about 26 years, she was a lovely wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She also worked there for nearly 26 years. Those who love her will miss her tremendously and with a great deal of sorrow.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Kevin Comer; children, Hannah and Brett Stanley, Haley and Elliot Smith; grandchildren, Jack Stanley, Jude Stanley, Wilson Stanley, Eleanor Smith, Hattie Smith; parents, Odell and Carolyn Fowler; siblings, Cindy and Chris Stanley, Barry and Gina Fowler, Stephen and Renee Fowler, Keith and Rindy Comer; nieces and nephews, Kayla and Jonathan Norman, Adam and Stella Stanley, Cole and Olivia Fowler, Olivia and Payton Stull, Jess Fowler, Miles Fowler.

Tristan and Kenzie Comer, Jordan Comer; great-nieces and nephews, Brandon Norman (Piper Dillon), Brodie Norman, Mamie Norman, Avery Stanley, Lane Stanley, Walker Stull, Henry Fowler; and her precious fur babies, Bella and CiCi. James and Marylene Comer, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, as well as her brother-in-law, Kennis Comer, and her sister-in-law, Kitty Comer, all passed away before she did.

Funeral services are scheduled to take place at Fairview Baptist Church on Monday, April 1, 2024 at one o’clock in the afternoon. The officiating clergy will be Dr. Billy Nale and Speaker Jason Cogdill. Friends and relatives will be welcomed by the family beginning at eleven in the morning and continuing until one in the afternoon. This will be followed by the burial in the church cemetery.
