Linda Arlene Mewes Obituary, Death Cause – Her family was there to comfort and support her at the time of her departure, which occurred on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Wabash General Hospital. She was surrounded by their love and care. Linda Arlene Mewes, who was 84 years old at the time of her departure, was reported missing. She was a resident of Mount Carmel, Illinois, and she was missing. Her parents, Charles Hunt and Mildred (Cunningham) Hunt, were overjoyed to welcome their daughter into the world on March 8, 1940, in Wabash County, Illinois. Her birth took place on that day. It was their attractive daughter who became the leader of the group. On February 6, 1981, she and Ron Mewes exchanged their vows and became husband and wife. Since then, the couple has been together for forty-three years and have been living a happy marriage. Ron Mewes has been her husband for a long time.

Throughout her entire life, she never wavered in her devotion to the Lord and to protecting her family. She had already been baptized and had joined the Lancaster Church of Christ by the time she was 19 years old, and she remained a faithful member of that congregation for her whole life. She later became a member of the Lancaster Church of Christ. The Pearson Band Shoppe in Cynthiana, Indiana was her place of employment for twenty years, during which time she had worked as a seamstress there. In 2005, she decided to finally retire from her position at the corporation. She had previously worked in the textile and garment business at her previous place of employment. When she had some spare time, she enjoyed doing things like quilting, sewing, and playing baseball all the way up to the major league level. Her favorite activities included all of these things. Linda’s presence will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Every single person. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Linda was a loyal family member. Every single one of these individuals will miss her presence with great affection.

Linda leaves behind her beloved husband, Ron; her children, Greg Abell of Olney, IL, Georgia (George) Houck of Moore Haven, FL, Gloria (Keith) Kasinger of Bethpage, TN; Ron’s two sons, David (Deb) Mewes of Strongsville, OH, Dennis (Danita) Mewes of West Salem, IL; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores (Russell) Smith, and Trixie (Jerry) Neikirk. A number of individuals, including Linda’s parents, her great-grandson Keaton Mewes, and one of her brothers-in-law, had already passed away prior to her own departure.
