She had reached the age of 97 at the time of her passing. She was born in Tell City on January 31, 1927, and her parents were William Jacob Huck and Mary Elizabeth (Beertzer) Huck. Her birthday is recorded as January 31. She was the daughter of the phrase that came before this one.

The choice to retire from General Electric was taken by Dorothy after she had worked for the company for a period of twenty years. Sewing, fishing, producing crafts of any kind, and solving crossword puzzles were some of her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. When Dorothy’s family came to visit, she eagerly anticipated their coming, and she particularly appreciated the Sunday dinners that she prepared for them. She was exceptionally happy when they arrived. It was usually Dorothy’s family who were the focus of everyone’s attention.

She is survived by her children, Glenda Daum (Jim), Brenda Busick, Tom Simpson, Gary Simpson (Barb), and Judy Flamion (Larry), as well as her sister, Linda Hannah, seven granddaughters, nine great grandkids, and three great-great grandchildren. Her children are among those who are left behind after her departure. Her legacy also includes three great-great grandkids who will miss her dearly.

Her parents, her husband Raymond “Jug” Simpson, her sister Ruth Hauser, her daughter-in-law Brenda Simpson, her son-in-law Jesse Busick, and her granddaughters Heather and Tina all passed away before her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

At Cliff Cemetery, Dorothy will be laid to rest, following in the footsteps of her husband, who had died away prior to her passing. There will be no visitation or funeral services held as it has been decided that neither of these events will take place. Donations can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of the Heart in remembrance of the person who has passed away; please do not be reluctant to make such a contribution.
